Phase I - Transcription of approximately 217 "older" gravestones, 217 completed as of 12/09/2006
Note: Information contained within [ ] is supplied from other verified sources.
This cemetery straddles Route 9N between the towns of Hague and Ticonderoga. The cemetery has four main sections. New internments appear to be occurring in all 4 sections.
The northeast section contains some of the oldest graves and is located north of the chapel on the east side of Route 9N. This section is often referred to as the "South Ti Cemetery" in some genealogical sources. A grass road provides access to both halves of this section. The more recent internments typically have occurred on the back side of the section, farthest from Route 9N.
The northwest section appears to be the second oldest section. This section is often referred to as the "West Side Cemetery". A U-shaped paved road provides access. Gravesites are on both sides of the road, with the more recent internments typically on the outer side of the road near the outer edges of the section.
The southeast section might be considered the main section of the cemetery. A U-shaped paved road provides access to the cemetery. A paved driveway off the northwest corner of the access road leads to the chapel and maintenance garage. Recent internments have occurred throughout this section.
The southwest section is the newest section of the cemetery. As with most modern cemeteries, all gravestones are level with the ground, to facilitate lawn maintenance.
Partial transcriptions by Frank Haviland (circa 1925) for the main and "West Side" sections can be found on the internet via several of the subscription services including ancestry.com and www.heritagequestonline.com. Look for "Essex and Warren County cemetery records".
