HARDY SKAGGS
1890-1964


Hardy Skaggs, 78, resident of Flat Gap, died in King's Daughter'
Hospital, Ashland, Saturday, May 30, after a month's illness.

A native of Johnson county, he was born December 19, 1890, a son of the
late Francis and Nancy Evelyn Williams Skaggs.

A former barber and teacher in the Johnson County School System, he had
lived at Flat Gap for forty-seven years and was a member of the First
Baptist Church of that community.

Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Dessie Williams Skaggs; a son, Oscar
Skaggs
, Ironton, Ohio; a brother, Cornelius Skaggs, Wilbur; a sister,
Mrs. Tilda Hill, Relief.

Funeral services were conducted at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday at the Jones and
Preston Funeral Home with the Rev. J. E. Wallace officiating.

Burial was in the family cemetery at Flat Gap.
