AILOR | an immigrantion surname of German immigrants. My guess is that Ailor's were an among the Lutherans and had probaly registered in a Syod in your area. I know that James Patterson Ailor married a Sallie Sharp from Tennessee, early 1800's. The It makes sense to me that the Sharps and the Ailors would have worked and worshiped together in MO before they homesteaded in Tennessee. Are there any Lutheran church records with the names Ailor (American), or any germans Oehlr? Simmiliar syntax's within the context of the "Oehlr" sound could be helpful. If it sounds like "Oehlr" and "Ailor" maybe it would help with this genie. |

Married Ben Benson and they lived in or near Grain Valley, MO and raised their children (Benjamin F., Vivian A., Annabelle, Mary and Oscar Leroy). She had three brothers, Per, Sven and Olaf, who came to the US with her and stayed in the Oakland, NE area but never had any offspring. These were nieces and Nephews to my grandfather, Peter Thurstenson. Anna's children are the only living kin in the US of my Grandfather's line and I would like to gain contact with this family who seemed to stay in the Kansas City area. |

m/Ollie Ping maybe married in or
around Joplin MO; they had several children one of which was my father
James Earl ; on a marriage license of my mother's and James it states
he was born in Joplin MO and was born sometime in 1919. The great great grand parents were suppose to have settled a town and named the town Anderson. Arriving from Sweden of Dutch and Swedish decent in large families. These Anderson tilled the land and made towns where nothing was. Story goes as the times grew bad around the end of the gold rush my great great grand father became a bank robber. Anyway I am here with six sibb's. The rest of the Anderson's were above board from my limited research of Anderson Surname. Looking at Ellison, my mother's side dating to 1500's in Ireland; we have an eighth removed cousin that I found through a message board from a Iowa and California lady putting all their pieces together. then my cousin saw it and the rest you can figure out! I never met my father he wasn't as kind as his ancestors. This Ollie Ping belongs to someone out there...got be on someone's papers somewhere, I will list her there as well. Don't think it is Chinese or Japanese since I am Irish, Greek, English, Swedish. |

ANDERSON, John Marshall | and his large family would have left Burr
Oak, Mo. about 1881
going
to Texas. I am not related in any way however I have bought a folder of 1944 Abilene, Tx. newspapers and found a very interesting article about his family moving to Tx and the life of one of his daughters by the name of Sarah Evelyn Anderson. The best I can determine she was born about 1866 probably in Missouri. She married Jesse P. Jackson in Tx. She was quite a lady as she was 78 when the article was written and she was still running a ranch along with her sons. The article states she was 15 and drove one of the 4 wagons enroute to Texas. I would simply love to match Sarah Evelyn Anderson with her relatives. From these old newspapers I have been able to connect a few other people with their relatives and it is so much fun I keep trying. |

Close (Oct., 1854 to ?) in June?, 1873 -Aquart owned the Aquart Chemical Co., 1202 Chemical Building, St. Louis in 1899 and this co. may have become the property of the Close family later. Aquart owned a home in Webster Groves, Mo. In doing research on a Sam. J. Call MD (local boy!) and the Overland Relief Expedition of 1897-98 I noted in the Harper's magazine (June '99) -carrying an accounting of the rescue- there was an ad for the Aquart Chem. Co. touting their furniture polish. This, I'm quite sure is my great- grandfather who, (family lore holds he produced polish), after a number of years as a painter for the railroads, went into business producing furniture polish. |

ARBIGAST |
Ephraim Arbigast lived with his
wife in Weston, MO after the civil war and was found in the 1870 census
in Weston. Wife Elizabeth (nee; Cook) Arbigast is found in
the1880 census living with her children at her parent's residence
(Dennison Cook) in Nettleton, MO. Also living with them was her
Grandmother Beasley, Sister and her children, her brother, but no
husband listed for either Elizabeth or her sister. My grandmother
(Granddaughter of Ephraim and Elizabeth) told me Ephraim and his wife
left the children (she said they were bonded out to a farmer, where the
eldest, Mary Jane promptly ran away. Her sister Ivy, stayed) and
went to search for gold in Alaska. They did not get out of
Kansas; however, when they stopped to mend a wagon wheel and the wagon
fell on Ephraim and killed him. Ephraim was also in the civil war
and was a prisoner at Andersonville, where he survived on oysters he
found and escaped by taking the place of a dead man being carried out
of the prison. |
