Harry Franklin Parks was born on May 27, 1896 in Pennsylvania to
William Henry Harrison Parks & Cora May Stake. Harry's occupation
was a coalminer in the mining town of Robertsdale, Pennsylvania. Harry
died of ArteridscLerotic Cardio Vascular Disease on July11, 1979
in Wood Township, Huntingdon, Pennsylvania.
Veta Jane Ramsey was born on March 6, 1899, in Todd Township,
Huntingdon, Pennsylvania to Irvin and Nellie (Barnett) Ramsey. Veta
attended Broad Top Nazarene Church. She died on Oct 31, 1986, of Acute
Myocardial Infarction, she died in seconds, in Robertsdale, Huntingdon
Co., Pennsylvania.
"Harry F. Parks, 83, Robertsdale, died at 3:20 a.m. Wednesday, July 11,
1979, at his hame. He had been in poor heath for the past several years.
"Born on May 27, 1896, in Trough Creek, he was the son of Henry and
Cora (Stake) Parks. He was united in marriage to Veta J. Ramsey on
Sept. 5, 1916, in Cumberland Md.
"In addition to his wife, he is survived by eight children. They are
Living Decker, Coraopolis; Mrs. Steve (Winifred) Ramper, Robertsdale;
Bernard Parks, Long Beach, Calif.; Mrs. Eva Swope, Saxton;
Mrs. Francis (Maxine) Hoover, Oskaloosa, Iowa;
Mrs. Estel (Living) Darland, Des Moines, Iowa; Living Parks, East Liverpool, Ohio and Living Parks, Coraopolis.
"Twenty-four grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren also survive.
Two sisters, Mrs. Martha Blair, Mill Creek, and Mrs. Alma Geier, Robertsdale, also survive.
"He was Nazarene in faith.
"Mr. Parks was a member of the United Mineworkers of America, and had
retired from the Rockhell Coal Co., Robertsdale, in 1954 after 40 years
of service.
"Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saterday at the Albert N.
Masood Funeral Chapel, Saxton, with the Rev. Robert Raycroft
officiating, and assisted by Rev. James Silsley. Interment will be made
in the Odd Fellow's Cemetery, Broad Top City.
Freinds will be received at the funeral home from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. on Friday and from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. on Saterday"
