The earliest United States Federal Census record yet identified for any members of this
Cordova family is a 1900 record for the family of Carmen Aguirre as an 8 month old infant.
She would grow up to wed Luis Hernandez Cordova, fourth child and son of Trinidad and
Maria Martinez Cordova.
The first record of Trinidad and Maria in the Federal Census found to date is in the year 1910 in
Maricopa County Arizona. Many of the sons and daughters of Trinidad and Maria remained there, marrying,
raising their children, the families appearing decade after decade in the same location.
Sometimes finding a family on a census is a first clue, or a confirmation of a suspicion. Many times this
is where we first learn the names of children or spouses, or discover someone has died or remarried
during a particular decade. Others are lost, born and died between census records years, never recorded in
this sometimes inaccurate, but oh, so helpful, once a decade record of the citizens of this
nation.
