The Goshenhoppen Registers 1741-1819 page 17:  "Grünewald-Schmidt:  June 18th, 1765, in Macunshi, by father Farmer, John Grünewald to Barbara Schmidt; witnesses Henry Fredder, Christian Henrich and Mathias Riffel."  Marriage Record

Catholic Trails West, Vol. I, page 481: "John found Albany Twp., Berks Co."  Names children and their birth and baptismal dates. [Found in or founded?]

The 1790 census for Albany Twp., Berks Co., PA lists as head of family John Greenawalt over 16, 2 males under 16 and 5 females of all ages including wife.

There is a record of a land deal between John Greenawalt and Christian Ruffner in Armstrong Twp., Westmoreland Co., PA on December 7, 1792.  Christian was married to Mary Otilia Kuhn.  John promised to pay 100 pounds in gold or silver to Christian for an unspecified acreage.  It is not known if John actually completed the contract and moved his family west or returned to Berks County and died there.

The Goshenhoppen Registers 1741-1819: "Schmidt, A. Barbara, of Philip and Eva Mary Schmidt; sponsors John Kuhn and Anna Barbara, his wife." Baptism April 1744.  Her sponsors were her maternal grandparents.  Children were often named after their baptismal sponsor.
