This is about Bartlett and Edward Moreland and John Banks a slave, belonging to Bartlett Moreland. In 1701 a Surry County court certificate was granted to Edward Moreland for 300 acres of land for the importation of several people. There is also a Peter Martin, servant to Edward Morland, who came into this country in 1700. And Edward Line age 16, servant to Edward Moreland, 1690-91.

Bartlett's will was written July 9, 1725 and probated Aug. 18, 1725 in Surry Co., VA Book 7 page 595. Mentions daughter Mary Moreland, land in York Co., that came to me by marriage with my first wife. Mentions wife, Elizabeth, and daughter Lucy Moreland.
