500. Josiah BRAINERD, LT. was born in 1711 in Haddam, Middlesex Co., CT. He died in 1792 in Haddam, Middlesex Co., CT. Source: NEHGR Oct 1941, #95, p: 352 A farmer, officer in the French and Indian War, a soldier with General Wolfe at the capture of Quebec, whose second wife was Hannah Spencer.

He served in the early wars and was a member of Legislature.

Josiah BRAINERD, LT. and Hannah SPENCER were married on 3 Jan 1733/34. Hannah SPENCER (daughter of John SPENCER and Elizabeth BROOKS) was born on 8 Apr 1705. She died before 15 Apr 1753. Josiah BRAINERD, LT. and Hannah SPENCER had the following children:
