Conley V. Griffin was born January 28, 1899 in Stanly County, NC and died June 23, 1985. He is the oldest son of Jonah and Lougenia Griffin. He married Veda L. Mullis on February 25, 1925. She was born on April 12, 1902 and died June 28, 1965. After their marriage they lived with Conley’s parents for a short time. Then they moved in with Veda’s widowed mother on Hailer Gin Road and helped her run the family farm.
