This page is for those that have Judds that they need more information on, or a connection. If you can help out, please email me and I'll pass on the info to the proper person. If you have a stumper of your own, please email me all the info you have, including dates, states, counties, children, etc., and I'll put it up on this page.

Note: While I don't mind helping other Judd researchers when I can, or have the info, please do not bother to ask me for help or info if you can't take the time to thank me. I am not a paid researcher, all my Judd work and research is voluntary.

Stumper 1 - Can you help with this one? Let me know.

Rebecca Judd was born January 9, 1818 in Ohio. She married William B. Prouty before June 1, 1860. They lived in Iola, Clay Twp., Marion Co., Iowa. Her previous spouse was John Richard Linfoot. Her daughter, Nancy Linfoot, married William Prouty, Jr., son of William and Lydia Hall Prouty. Rebecca's other children were Philo and Laura Linfoot.

Do you have any idea who her parents were? Is she off Thomas Judd's line or Rowland Judd's line, or one of the other unrelated Judds?

Stumper 2 - Can you help with this one? Let me know.

Charles Judd was born January 15, 1843 and died in 1902. Supposedly he was born in Prussia. He married Mary Parker, who was born August 14, 1845 and died in 1921. They lived in Monroe County, New York, where their children were born and raised. They are not to be found on the 1900 census in NY.

The had a son, Titus Judd born February 26, 1882 in Monroe Co., NY. He married Millie Arabelle Crowell, born about 1883 in Monroe Co., NY. She was the daughter of David Walson Crowell & Nancy Way.

Titus & Millie Judd had at least 4 children, all born in Monroe Co., NY:
1- A son, Evan, born about 1904 in NY.
2- A daughter, Lulu, born about 1908 in NY.
3- Another daughter, Florence, born about 1911 in NY.
4- Another son, Lloyd Walton, born March 16,1916 in NY.

Someone is looking for Charles Judd's parents and his birthplace, as well as more information on this family. Titus wasn't found on the 1900 census for NY - but he was found with his family on the 1920 census.

Thanks to Kate's help ( Thank you, Kate ! ), with her lookup on the 1880 census, it's now known:

Titus Judd's family (parents & siblings), Hamlin, Monroe Co., NY, 1880
1) Charles, self, male, married, white, 36 yo, born in Prussia, farmer
2) Mary, wife, female, married, white, 35 yo, born in Prussia, keeping house
3) Florence M., daughter, female, single, white, 15 yo, born in NY, attending school
4) Etta L., daughter, female, single, white, 11 yo, born in NY, attending school

7) Otis H., son, male, single, white, 5 yo, born in NY
8) Chester, son, male, single, white, 3 yo, born in NY
The parents of for all of the above Judds were born in Prussia.

Titus Judd's future in-laws, the Crowells, also found in Hamlin, Monroe Co., NY:
1) David, self, male, married, white, 25 yo, born in NY, farmer
2) Nancy, wife, female, white, 25 yo, born in NY, house keeping
3) Nellie, daughter, female, single, white, 1 month old, born in NY
The parents for all the Cromwells above were born in New York.

Has anyone else come across any Judds born or from Prussia?

Looking for information on Hester Judd, born in Kentucky, date and location unknown. Hester married George Shelton. George was also born Kentucky, date and location also unknown.

They have one known child, Lillie D. Shelton, born June 15, 1883 in Kentucky, county unknown. Lillie died on February 26, 1912 in Paris, Lamar Co., TX. Lillie married Charles M. Huff. Charles was the son of Clayton M. Huff and Mary S. Denton of Horse Cave, Hart Co., KY.

Lillie's birth date is from her interment record and tombstone. This information was provided by John Thomas Huff of Whitesboro, TX who gave the order for burial.

The link that confirms the connection of Lillie to Hester comes from Lillie's death certificate, which lists Hester Judd and George Shelton of Kentucky as her parents.

Someone is looking for the parents of Mary Judd who was born about 1735 (possibly 1740), theoretically in Simsbury, Hartford Co., CT, though they've have found no record of her.

Mary Judd married Timothy Cossett (Cossitt, Cosset, etc.), in the early 1750s. Their first son, Timothy, was born October 9, 1754. Their son, Martin, was born January 11, 1757. They also had a daughter who didn't survive much beyond birth.

Timothy Cossett was born February 9, 1731/32 in Simsbury, Hartford Co., CT. His parents were Ren Cossett, an immigrant from France, and Ruth Elizabeth Porter of Farmington/Waterbury, CT.

Somehow Mary Judd must connect to Deacon Thomas Judd's line, but to who?
