Henry Howser Cemetery in Cherokee County, South Carolina

Howser Cemetery is located in Kings Mountain National Military Park in Cherokee County, South Carolina, very near the North Carolina border. Within the park, is the Howser Cemetery and the stone house built by Henry Howser.

I wish to thank Mike Huffstetler for photographing Howser Cemetery. While visiting the park, Henry Howser stone house, and the Howser Cemetery in 2002, we photographed (using a non-digital camera) the house and cemetery. After getting back home, I took the film to be developed and it was ruined in the process. Over a year ago, I put a request through findagrave.com for the cemetery to be photographed, and Mr. Huffstetler took the opportunity in 2010 to perform that task. While corresponding with him via e-mail, I learned his wife is also related to me via my Warlick family line.

After asking Mr. Huffstetler for permission to post his photographs here, he gave me permission of which I am truly grateful! After looking at his photographs, I realized that much work had been done on the tombstones and found this copy of Monumental Issues online. It described the work that was done to restore the stones.
