Comments: I have just started these past months looking into our family on my Mothers side (Springer) My GGGGGrandfather was Dennis Springer, this comes from my Mothers Mother as she was a Springer. I don't know much on how all this works but I do have news clippin s of Nathon Alonzo Springer, my GreatGrandfather. Dennis Springers first son, Josiah b.1737 had a son Nathan Limpus b. 1833 and his son Nathon Alonzo Spring had a daughter Grace Mae Springer, my Grandmother. I don't know how to do the web pages with the Family Tree Maker yet as I just got the program so it will take me some time to get going with it. I have a full time job and it doesn't leave much time on the computer in the evenings as I'm finding out this an take alot of your time. It would mean so much to me to be on your list of the Springer Family Book you are putting together. So please let me know when it is ready to be sold as I would love to buy a copy. I have many family pictures of the Springers but none back to Dennis Springer. I would be more than happy to give you what info I have if it is of need to you. Please answer me soon. Comments: My maiden name is Springer. My paternal grandfather is Harold Nathan Springer, born 24 Aug 1915 in New York City, New York. His father was Louis (or Louise?) Springer, which is all I know. Comments: My maternal grandfather for whom I was named was descended from the Springer family in Maine. There is a memorial in Franklin (near Ellsworth) to the men from the community who served in the Revolutionary War, including John Springer. There are a number of Springers listed on the town memorials in Franklin and Hancock to men who served in the Civil War, and the cemeteries have the name on myriad numbers of stones. My grandfather and several relatives left Maine and homesteaded in Idaho in the late 19th entury. While I have heard the stories about the ownership of Wilmington, I have always assumed that the Maine Springers were from a different branch of the tree and had no claim to Delaware. |

Comments: David Springer 3 April 1822 - 8 Sept 1898 is my GGGrandfather. Our family cemetery (Marion Co. IN) suggests that his parents were John S. (1797-1854) and Hester Groves S. (1798-1872). 1850 census lists David born in Ohio, his parents in Pennsylvania. Does this tie in with any of your information? I have so much information here that it is almost unmanageable, but no definitive link of John back to Pennsylvania (I would guess Uniontown area). It seems likely that he is a descendant of Stockholm's famous Kar ll Christofferson Springer (1658 - 1738) who did such good things in Wlimington. I would be pleased to send all definitive, original source supported information should it be of interest. Can you be of any assistance to my search to connect up John Spring r to the Springers of the Colonies? And then there is the matter of Thueringen!?! |

Comments: Heritage Press just published my The History of the Pritchard Family , The Virginia Line from Thomas, Jamestown Immigrant. Over several generations, the family settled in Monongalia/Marion County (West) Virginia. During the course of my research, I discov red several Prickett connections. The first was Miles Prickett of St. Cross near Canterbury, Kent, England, described as an "adventurer in Virginia, probate to brother John Prickett, June 1627. He may or may not have been related to my immigrant Thomas Pr tchard (the surname is misspelled in many ways thanks to the whims of court recorders). The second connection is Job Prickett, who married Mary Price November 10, 1806 in Monongalia County, (West) Virginia, surety: William Windsor. Since my book was published, I have heard from many people with a great deal of information I would love to inc ude in an updated version next year or so. Mary Price was the daughter of Richard Price, who married Eleanor Pritchard. I have no information about her after her marriage to Job Prickett and would be happy to learn if your line touches hers. |

Comments: I have an Abagail Springer that is married to a John Stidham in May 06, 1790 in New Castle Co., Deleware. She was born in 1764 in Newcastle, Delaware and died in 1840. Her parents are Jacob Springer and Catherine. These are the only Springers that I h ve. I have found a Jacob Springer married to a Catherine Springer in a publication of the Delaware Gen Soc. Comments: In Glen Lough's book "Now and Long Ago" is the following quote on page # 412 - Nathaniel Springer, hunter, solider, Indian fighter, Marion County pioneer, was born in Delaware, August 20, 1719. His father was William Springer; his mother before marriage,w s Margaret Paxton, daughter of Edward and Margaret Collins Paxton. This information is from a bible that belong to John Paxton, an early settler in now Fayette County, PA. This John Paxton, said to have been a brother of Col.
