John Berg grew up in Brandon, Florida where he graduated from Brandon High School in 1977. He graduated from Georgia Tech in 1982 with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. He worked as a turbine engineer with Tampa Electric Co., in Tampa, Florida for five years, then took a job with Cogentrix, Inc. in North Carolina. He was transferred to Richmond, Virginia where he supervises maintenance for several Cogentrix power plants. John and Barbara make their home in Chesterfield, Virginia.
