Note: Siegmund founded the S. Kary & Co. silk textile company, with a manufacturing plant in FischamendGerman, Lower Austria and a nice building in Vienna, where they housed their head office and the retail business selling silk by the meter to the public. Both Arthur and Walter joined the company and since Arthur was the elder, he was in charge. *see image of Sidenwarehaus in Wien 1 gegrundet 1864, 1914

Died: 1960 or 1962 in New York, NY. age at death 78 est., buried in Ferncliffe cem., Hartsdale, NY. Father: Heinrich Bohm Mother: Clara (see BACH family)

    Note: Arthur and his sons were arrested in 1938, soon after the Nazis occupied Austria. Extract from Joseph (Joele) Bohm Story "..After few weeks, Arthur Kary and Otto Kary were arrested and put into the court house prison in Vienna, which in many cases was just a transit station to the concentration camps; after several weeks greatest anxiety, however, they were released. Andreas Kary was less fortunate; after his arrest he was sent to the infamous Dachau concentration camp. He survived a 10 month stay and was released in April 1939, when he could produce an American immigration visa.. -  ..In one way or another, the Kary family managed to get an Italian visa. Peter and Hertha Langer with their little daughter Susi received an Australian visa and intended to stay there for good. (When I asked Peter whether Australia isn't really very far out, he just said "Far from where?").."

    Note: Arthur bought Walter out of Seiden Kary and Walter bought Ignaz Selinko out, after having worked with him for a little while. After WW1 when the Austrian Empire ceased to exist, Walter started the manufacturing business, as he was certain that with such a small home market, a trading business could not maintain its dominance in its very large market, which was now many nationalistic little countries, who wanted to rid of their dependence on the previous empire. *See extract from book Ökonomie der ArisierungGerman "..In March, 1943 the property of Jewish former companion Margarethe Kary became in favour of the German state drawn.91.. .. Company Brüder Selinko mechanical Weaving mill Inzersdorf. After 1945 the company was under public management. In Industrie Compass 1947/48 the firm is under the name Inzersdorfer Weberrei Dr. Mache & Svoboda K.G. verzeichner?; Richad Basch.93 was the public Governor. From 1953 the firm appears again under the name Inzersdorfer Weberrei Brüder Selinko in Compass. Owner of the firm was at that time again Marguerite Kary, daughter of the company founder Ignatz Selinko, who died in 1935. Limited partner was her son Hans Kary again.94"
