Historical Memoir of Plymouth Colony,' by
Francis Baylies, that 'from Alexander Standish
are descended two genereations of distinguished
literary talents, Dr. Wheelock, late President
of Dartmouth College, and Dr. Kirkland, late
President of
Harvard.'"
