I am looking for family HALE member's connected to my ggg grandmother Sarah "Fanny" HALE. She was b. 1804 in VT. (I have a census from WI that said her parent's were b. in MA and she was b. in VT) She m. my ggg grandfather, JAMES SERGEANT in the Chenango Co/Otsego Co NY area in 1824. Her father was said to be DANIEL HALE and was a Revolutionary Officer. The DAR only gave me 2 Daniel's that possible could be him and they show no Sarah or Fanny as a daughter. She went by the nickname of "FANNY". I recently found she had a sister named RUTH HALE that married a cousin of James Sergeant, WELLS ELY SERGEANT. Ruth Hale's father was listed as Daniel as well, so they must have been sister's, as they lived very close to each other in New Berlin, NY. Ruth was b. 1809. She was listed as being born in VT too in a 1850 census of NY. Several children of Fanny and James were buried in the Riverside Cemetery in South New Berlin, NY near the Unadilla River that separates the 2 counties, so family member's may have lived near in either county. James and Fanny had 5 children that lived, James Giles, Andrew, Helen Marion, Emily Eliza, Daniel Delos(my gg). We believe, but only speculate that Fanny's mother may have been a "GILES" as there were several GILES families in the area as well, but not certain. Her mother's first name could have been Eliza,Maria or Marion, since these names were repeated in both Ruth and Fanny's families. Fanny & James migrated west to WI in 1846 when it was just a wilderness. Fanny died 1875 in Jefferson Co WI, and is buried in Hebron cemetery. I haven't been able to find a lot on these HALES. Thank you for any replies!  Penny Kresl [email protected]

My GGGG Grandfather was Joseph HALE. He had brothers, Thomas, Patrick, George and Philip.Their father was Phillip HALE. I had at one time, a copy of my family tree dating back to Phillip HALE who received a grant of 100 acres of land on May 4,1789 in what is now Greene County, TN but was at that time was NC. His wife was Catherine. He died Oct. 20,1819, at the age of 66 years 6 months and 2 days. He is buried along with Catherine and Joseph at a family cemetery near the Robert I. HALE Sr. river bridge about 2 miles below Warrenburg. Joseph was my ancestor. His wife was Rebecca. He was born Feb 9,1789 and died Dec 1,1873.

The family tree that was lost was prepared by Judge BOGGS. His mother was the sister of my grandfather HALE. He had a daughter named Bernice. Judge was living at 3327 Carrollton Ave, Indianapolis, IN in November, 1950.

My father was Aetna Ray HALE. He had 3 brothers, Perry, Philip and McKean. His only sister was Roxie. She was married to Earl BOGAN. They adopted and raised a lovely daughter Phylis. Perry had only one daughter, Doris, who never married. They lived in the Providence RI area but are now deceased. Philip had one daughter, Dorothy. She married a WRIGHT whom I know is deceased. Her lka was Wintergreen FL.

My Grandfather HALE had 4 brothers, John, Jim, Charles and Fred and two sisters, Ethel and Susan. John's wife was Dora. they had a son, John Jr. Jim HALE had a son Dick. I have information on the location of the cemetary but I have nothing on the family between this generation until about 1930 and there are many gaps in my most recent info.

If you have anything that would help I would appreciate it.
Respectfully, Ross Hale [email protected]

I'm searching for the ancestors of my grandfather, CHARLES WALTER HAIL. He was born 3 March 1863 in Little Rock Arkansas to Lindsey and Nancy Hail. He married Sallie Eugenia Coulter 23 December 1886. His first job was as a teacher in Como, TX...later became a 'law officer,' and at one time, was Chief of Police in Sulphur Springs, TX. My father, BEN HILL HAILE, added the 'e' to his last name when he played professional baseball c. 1910...seems another player had the name 'Hail' and he didn't want any confusion! Please contact me if you find a connection. [email protected]

Hi! The following is the only information I have at this time regarding my Hale background:

My grandfather was Walter Franklin Hale born in Ohio City, Ohio on November 1, 1893 - he was married to Margaret Robbins. My grandfather died on November 25, 1982. His father was Richard Franklin Hale born April 1, 1860 in upper Sandusky, Ohio - I don't know the date of his death but he was buried in Wheeler, Michigan. Oh my… I don't know where to look. I need help trying to locate information on my grandfather Richard Wilbert Hale born Oct 1874. Rumor has been that his family immigrated here from Ireland when he was a boy to the Joplin, MO. area.

Possibly had two older children before marrying my grandma. Their names would be Casey and Helen Hale. My grandma was Bessie Elizabeth Hannah was born in MN July30, 1903. Grandpa was about 30 years older.

Grandpa fought for Canada during WWI and there my oldest uncle was born, my mother was born in Crandon, WI where I believe grandpa lived until his death in may of 1960 . Also was rumored that their name was McHale until they immigrated then it was shortened also heard that grandpa killed a man in a fight for money and they changed it from Haley or Haile to Hale , but no evidence on any of this. Grandpa did have a sister named Tillie buried in Gratiot WI. Could be short for Matilda?

If you have any help I would appreciate it. Thank you for your time Michelle [email protected]

I happened to come into possession of a photocopy of a set of Bible records which I would like to pass on to the appropriate family. I have no location for the family. Perhaps you have heard of a JACOB HALE born Sept 4, 1763, died 5 Sept. 1851, with wife MARTHA born Dec. 15, 1766, died 23 June 1859. If these names ring a bell in your memory, perhaps you would pass on the location of their residence so I can submit the records to that place on RootsWeb.
Thanks, Cathy

I am trying to locate information on the HALE family connection, I am very new at this so, I am learning as I go. I know very little about computers and even less about tracing family trees and from what I have been lead to believe ours has many twisted branches.

My HALE side of the family was never close, because my grandparents did not have children until late in life (early 30's) & most of their siblings families were almost grown. Therefore my father did not know many of his relatives. But I will give you what I know in hopes that someone out there has some information they are willing to share.

John Henry HALE (g-grandfather) m June 6 1869 Rhoda L. ROGERS HALE b 1853 in Sevier Co, TN d 1929. Children:
Andy Thomas HALE(grandfather) b Aug 5 1885 d Aug 8 1959 m Margaret Ann LEWELLING HALE b May 30 1885 d Nov 21 1977. They had 5 children including my father. Sara HALE HANCOX b Sept 11 1883 d Dec 30 1965 m Robert A. HANCOX b Jan 26 1880 d May 30 1944, Jim HALE married twice, 1st: Margaret DUNLAP 2nd:Gertie WOOD, Nin HALE married a WILKINS, Rachel married SteveGIBSON, Tish married a TIPTON. Joel married Mary?  I believe John Henry HALE to have been born around 1853. I hope someone can help me. Thanks! Shelia Bledsoe. [email protected]

My husband's gggrandfather was Gardner Hale, who married Rhoda Perry. They lived in Lysander, Onondaga County, New York at the time their children were born. The children were:
Gardner - b. Sept 17, 1819 married Betsy ?
Nancy - b. July 7 1822 married Abram VanValkenburg
Hannah - b. Feb 10, 1825 married Nathan Salsbury
Martha Ann - b. 1830 married Ira Perry
Jessie - married Fred Perry

Nancy and Abram were married in Lysander in January 1843 and came to the southern Michigan-northern Ohio area about 1845. It seems all the sisters and the brother came to that area as they are all buried in the same area. There is a Gardner in the 1850 census located in Cape Vincent, Jefferson Co., New York. Who were Gardner's parents? Where and when was he born and where and when did he die? [email protected]
