2. Hubert Ray GADDIS b. 29 Mar 1919 Texline, Dallam Co, TX; m. 15 Dec 1938; d. 31 May 1978 Tucumcari, Quay Co, NM. Had four sisters; unknown which of these (if any) are still living.

2. Hubert Ray GADDIS' widow is still living.

3. Hubert Ephraim GADDIS b. 20 Oct 1885, place unknown; marriage date and place unknown; d. 15 Oct 1970, place unknown. Father of Hubert Ray GADDIS and siblings. Parents were Luke R GADDIS and Mary Elizabeth (?)RODEN -- no further information.

3. Eula JONES b. 24 Nov 1886, place unknown; d. Jul 1944, place unknown. Unknown whether she had any siblings. Parents were Tom JONES and Josephine Moss FLOYD -- no further information.

4. Per census records, Luke R GADDIS' parents were Hogan GADDIS, b. bet. 1810-1820 in NC and Julia NN, b. bet. 1810-1820 in SC, found in the following censuses:

1840 in District 890, Cherokee Co, GA

1850 in 27th District, Cherokee Co, AL

1860 in 2nd District, Cherokee Co, AL

1870 in Twp 4 Range 7, Subdivision 4, Marshall, AL

They had the following children besides Luke: Mary, Salina, Matilda, Martha, Melinda, Nancy S and John M Gaddis, b. between 1834 - 1860.

It is speculated that Hogan and an Archibald Gaddis were brothers as they are found many times on the same census page and in the same age bracket. Archibald, b. approx. 1810 in NC married to Lucinda, b. approx. 1824 and had the following children: Patsy, Hogan, John, Martha (?), Anna, Silas, Frances, Archibald, Julia, Margaret, Sarah and Mary being born between 1830 and 1851. This whole family seemed to not know their names or ages as information changes between each census record.

I am one of many descendants of Hubert Ray GADDIS, but I've found very little information on this family online.
