Lenawee County Clerk
The County Clerk's Office oversees all records for births, deaths, marriages, assumed names, Circuit Court records, elections information, notaries, passports, and CCW's. In addition they take care of the Counties payroll and accounts payable.
Genealogy Research Hours: Tuesday to Friday, 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. and 1:30 to 3:30 p.m.
Identification Requirements: Photo ID required for Birth Records
Certified Copy/Additional: $13.00/$4.00.
Other Copy Fees: $ 1.00 per page (other than Birth, Death, or Marriage records). All mail requests require payment in advance.
Comments: Due to limited space and staffing, research is limited to the days and time listed above and to one-half hour increments if others are waiting. Space allows for two genealogists at one time.
Births: 1867 to present. Birth records are available only to the individual named on the birth record (registrant), the parents of the registrant, a legal guardian of the registrant, a legal representative of the registrant or an heir of the registrant. An heir is defined as any relative of a deceased individual. Heirs must supply the date and place of death of the registrant when requesting a copy. This policy is in accordance with MCL 333.2882.

Marriages: 1853 to present
Divorces: 1853 to present. Indexes only are available for the very early years.
Naturalization: 1867 to 1980
