[7]The
parents of Birdine Gunn are given in "Pulaski County: Virginia and
Virginians" p. 18 as Sarah (Owens) Gunn. In "Marriage Records,
1839-1900, in the Pulaski County Courthouse, Pulaski, Virginia" the
parents of Birdine Gunn are John C. and J. Gunn; the parents of Elizabeth J.
Gunn are John C. and Elizabeth Gunn; and the parents of William A. Gunn are
John C. and Sarah Gunn.
The are no indications of more than one
"John C. Gunn," so I believe Elizabeth, Sarah and J. Gunn are the
same person. John C. and Elizabeth Gunn had a daughter named Elizabeth J.
indicating the possibility that John C. Gunn's wife Elizabeth was also an
"Elizabeth J." Alternately, the J. Gunn may be a misreading for
S(arah) Gunn.
Elizabeth, the wife of John C. Gunn,
could be Sarah Elizabeth Owens or Elizabeth Sarah Owens or Elizabeth
"Sarah" Owens.
