Green Ham Crowder, Junior was not listed in the 1870 census. He was living with his sister Sarah Jane (Crowder) McAfee in the 1880 census. That census record indicates that Green Ham Crowder, Junior had reached the age of 8 before 1 June 1880. If the census information is correct then Junior was born in the later part of 1871 or early in 1872. Was he Virginia Bromley Crowder's son? According to the historical notes written by Maud Biard Smith in 1958, Virginia died in 1871. If Green Junior was her son then she most likely died of childbirth complications.

Was he Caroline Shrode Crowder's son? Green Ham Crowder married Caroline Shrode 22 September 1872. If Green Ham Crowder, Junior's age is correct on the 1880 census then it is possible but not likely that she was his mother.

Green Ham Crowder, Junior died before 1900. According to the historical notes written by Maud Biard Smith in 1958, "Green junior died young". We have not found his gravesite.
