This part of the Unterdorf site covers several historical perspectives. Included is a summary of Russian history that led to the development of the several German colonies that emerged on the Russian steppes and elsewhere.
I have added a synopsis of Russian history that may prove helpful in putting together the pieces of the mystical puzzle of the "German Russians."
The history of Unterdorf is rather sketchy, but we've included here the fragments of information that are available. Information and links that help expand the history of the German Russians and our Unterdorfer ancestors will be added in the future.
