--At the death of his father (Robert MacKay Sr), Zachariah (future father-in-law of Jacob) received the part of the original grant, which was then known as Nathaniel Galbreath's Bottom. Zachariah refused to act as executer of his father's will as it required making an oath. Moses and Robert Jr. were affirmed.
". . .Among the various tracts of land held by Robert McKay Sr. and his partners was one of 7009 acres on Linville Creek, in what is now Rockingham County, which they secured in 1739. In June, 1746, 1200 acres of this land was transferred to Robert McKay Sr. This valuable tract after his death descended to his sons, Robert Jr., Zachariah (future father-in-law of Jacob), Moses, and James, who possessed the greater part of it until 1768, when they sold 300 acres of it to Tunis Vanpelt and 600 acres to John Lincoln."

Isaac Berton and a Rev. William Reno of Buffalo Baptist Church in Washington Co, met at the home of James English on the Big Pigeon River and formed a confession of Faith. Later the records show that the church was burned by marauding Indians. The attendance brought letters from their home churches. It was known as the Big Pigeon Primitive Baptist Church wand was located in present-day Cocke Co, TN.December 6

-The inhabitants of the Western County requested the North Carolina Legislation create a new state called Tennessee. Jacob Job and Nathan Job (brother to Jacob) were among the signers.

February 28-William Reno preached at home of Samuel Job (brother to Jacob) on the Big Pigeon River. (In early days of church the members were forced to barricade themselves in various forts due to the hostile Indians--constant raids, stolen horses, and people being massacred by the Indians. For some time the church was disbanded.)July 23
-Robert Lock Stubblefield deed 100 acres to Sarah Chase on German's Branch. Witnesses were Nicholas Hail and Jacob Job. It was proved by Jacob Job in 1791.
-"Know ye by these present that Zachariah McKay (father of Dorcas and Deborah MacKay Jobe) of the County of Sullivan and that state of North Carolina, have made and ordained that constituted and by these presence to make and ordain in my place. August 14-Jacob Job deeded land in Sullivan Co, Tn to son, Samuel. The land was a tract of 290 acres on Kendrick's Creek and was given for love to Samuel
August 27-William Denton Deeded land in Kendrick's Creek to John Cox. Witnesses were Jacob Job and Zachariah Job (son of Jacob and Deborah)-John Cox (son-in-law to Jacob and Deborah) and family settled in Sullivan Co, TN. They lived between Horse Creek and Kendrick's Dreek. (There was also a John Cox in Hawkins Co, TN in 1783). The lands of Cox, Hulse, and Jobe adjoined.

This Indenture maid this 18th day of December in the year of Our Lord one thousand Eight hundred and forty one between Samuel Jobe of the State of Tennessee and Sullivan County of the one part and Nathan Jones of Washington County and State of the other part. Witnesseth that the said Samuel Jobeas for and in the consideration of six hundred and ninety six dollars to him in hand paid the receipt whereof of is hereby acknowledged hath bargained and sold and conveyed unto him the said Nathan Jones his heirs and assigns forever all that tract or parcel of land situated in the County aforesaid on a branch of Kendrix Creek begining at a small white oak on Wm Jacksons line thence with said line which is a conditional line between said Jobe and said Wm Jackson South Westerly to a post oak Jacksons corner thence with said conditional North seventy one degrees West thirty poles to a small dogwood then South ten degrees East one hundred an two poles to a white oak and poplar thence North thirty nine degrees East seventy poles to a black Walnut then on a conditional line between said Samuel Jobe and Nathan Jobe as it meanders South Easterly one hundred and twenty two poles to a popular on Peter Jacksons line then with said line North thirty five degrees East One hundred and fore poles to a double Chestnut on the hill thence North eighty degrees West seventy five poles to a stake thence North eighty five degree West one hundred and six poles to the begining----- Containing one hundred and sixteen acres being the same more or less together with all improvements woods ways waters and water courses mines minerals hereditaments and appertainances to the premises or any part thereof to hold unto him the said Nathan Jones his heirs and assigns against him the said Samuel Jobe and his heirs and against all and every other person or persons whatsoever claiming by from or under him them or any of them.
