The Church, which was moved, is in Sumter Co, but the Cemetery is in Marion Co.
As per "History of PEDDY Family" by Thomas J "Joe" Peddy, Henry Peddy, born 1788 or before, is buried in Linwood Cemetery, one of the first graves in the cemetery.
Forbes Bradley 1809 - 1890 and his wife, Theresa Ann Clark Bradley 1827 - 1871 are buried in Linwood. Theophelius Sapp 1810 - 1877 and his wife, Narcissa Frances CLARK SAPP 1813 - 1862 are buried in Linwood. Theresa and Narcissa were daughters of Rebeakah PEDDY CLARK.
Between my first & second visit in the 1990's there was some vandalism and not as many graves marked. Based upon a 2004 Rootsweb site for an "Unnamed Cemetery" with the Peddy children listed there must have been more vandalism in this isolated cemetery.
The first cemetery reading of this cemetery was by Joseph Thomas "Joe" Peddy. A copy of his reading is either in the Peddy Surname file in the Bradley Library or in the special collections at Auburn (AL) University - See Thomas Joseph Peddy Collection. The second cemetery reading of the PEDDY - JONES - CLARK, Cemetery that I've seen was by Mr & Mrs Lewis Hanna of Columbus GA on October 21 1978. Information on June HANNA This reading is included in a list of cemeteries compiled by Brady Wilson in the GENEALOGICAL AND HISTORICAL Room, Bradley Memorial Library, 1120 Bradley Drive, Columbus GA, 31995. Article, "Finding Your Ancestors" by Kenneth H Thomas, Jr. TOMBSTONE FOUND A Columbus newspaper of April 18 1977, reports the finding of a tombstone by Mike Donovan. The stone reads: "In memory of Rebeka, wife of William Clark, born May 17 1792, died Sept 5 1851."
Some Genealogy: Bradford Peddy was born 1818-19, son of Henry Peddy, 1875 and his wife Penny Clark Hill Peddy. Likewise Penelope Angeline Peddy was a daughter of Henry & Penny Peddy. Rebecka Peddy Clark was a daughter of Jeremiah Peddy, 1760 and his wife, Leviney Skinner Peddy. Rebecka Peddy Clark & Henry Peddy were brother & sister.
