Generation Six

 

              The Kemper branch leads to the Confederate General James Lawson Kemper who led a brigade in Pickett’s Divison during the famous charge at Gettysburg during the Civil War.  He was seriously wounded but recovered and eventually became the Governor of Virginia.

54.  John Peter KEMPER (5036); born December 25, 1717 in Germanna, VA; married Elizabeth Fishback (5037) September 7, 1738; died June 1, 1788 in Fauquier Co., VA, at age 70.[1]

 

     Elizabeth FISHBACK (5037) was born on February 13, 1722/23 in Germantown, VA. She died on February 21, 1768 in Cedar Grove at age 45.[2]

     Children of John Peter Kemper (5036) and Elizabeth Fishback (5037) were:

+       62.        i.    Frederick (5038), born June 20, 1748 in Cedar Grove, VA; married Mary Jefferies (5039).
