7.  Benjamin3 WEDDLE (Martin2, Michael1); born circa 1752 in Lancaster Co., PA; married Annie Maria Eiler, daughter of John Jacob Iller and Anna Maria (--?--), circa 1770 in Bedford Co., PA; died April, 1807 in Bent Mountain, Montgomery Co., VA. [1],[2]

     He was from Lancaster County, Pennsylvania.  From there he moved to Horseshoe Bend on the New River just east of Radford in Montgomery County, Virginia.   Later, Benjamin moved his family to Floyd County, Virginia, near Bent Mountain.[3]

     Benjamin Weddle was a veteran of the Revolutionary War.  Benjamin also fought in the Battle of Point Pleasant under General Andrew Lewis in 1774 against Indian Chief Cornstalk.[4] He is mentioned in a Philip Barrager land record which says "on north side of his line on Toms Creek where Ben Waddle lives between said land and the mountain" on October 15, 1782 in Fincastle Co., VA.[5]  In 1790 in Montgomery Co., VA a land record states "1790, BENJAMIN WADDLE from James Hines, 1,408 acres west fork of Little River."[6]

 

     Annie Maria EILER was born in 1751 in Lancaster Co., PA.[7] She died in May, 1834 in Floyd, Floyd Co., VA; buried in the Weddle Cemetery in Floyd Co., VA.[8]

     Children of Benjamin3 Weddle and Annie Maria Eiler were as follows:

        14.        i.    Elizabeth4 Weddle, born circa 1770 in Montgomery Co., VA; married Jesse Hylton.[9],[10]

        15.       ii.    Eve Weddle; born January 15, 1771 in VA; married John Vancell Jr. November 5, 1795 in Montgomery Co., VA; died October 27, 1859 in VA at age 88. [11],[12]    

+      16.     iii.    David Weddle Sr., born May 1, 1774 in Lancaster Co., PA; married Margaret Morricle.

+      17.      iv.    Martin Weddle, born March 6, 1775 in Montgomery Co., VA; married Martha Hylton.

+      18.       v.    John Joseph Weddle, born circa 1776 in Montgomery Co., VA; married Jane Wade; married Pamela Howard Akers.

        19.      vi.    Jonas Weddle; born circa 1779 in Montgomery Co., VA; married Polly Rutrough January 25, 1806 in Montgomery Co., VA; died December 21, 1845 in Floyd Co., VA. [13],[14]

        20.    vii.    Rebecca Weddle; born circa 1783.[15]

        21.    viii.    Katherine Weddle, born March 7, 1784 in Montgomery Co., VA; married Archelaus Hylton. [16],[17],[18]

+      22.      ix.    Andrew Lewis Weddle, born August 13, 1787 in Montgomery Co., VA; married Elizabeth Boone.

        23.       x.    Margaret Weddle; "Peggy;" born February 17, 1789 in Montgomery Co., VA; married Samuel Huff February 1, 1816 in Montgomery Co., VA; died April 15, 1874 in Floyd Co., VA, at age 85; buried in Weddle Cemetery in Floyd Co., VA. [19],[20]

        24.      xi.    Sarah Weddle; born November 22, 1792 in Montgomery Co., VA; married Jacob S. Harter June 16, 1812 in Patrick Co., VA; died January 24, 1869 in Butler Township, Darke Co., OH, at age 76. [21]

        25.    xii.    Susannah Weddle; born 1794 in Floyd Co., VA.[22]
